Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are re-united after their successful pairing in Titanic to star as Frank and April Wheeler; a married couple living in the suburbs of Connecticut with their two children.
Cracks start to appear in their “special” relationship and April persuades Frank to move to Paris, to seek out their dreams.
Will the couple take a chance and start a new and exiting life in Paris or will they settle for their mundane, bored and unfulfilled lives in suburbia?
Our Verdict on the Revolutionary Road DVD
Revolutionary Road has wonderfully powerful acting from DiCaprio and Winslet but I still didn’t enjoy the film; it didn’t have enough oomph for my liking and I found the story tedious at times. I was tempted to turn off a couple of times during the film.
If you’re like me and need a story to grab you from the start then Revolutionary Road probably isn’t for you. If you enjoy powerful emotive dramas with strong characters and wonderful acting then you may enjoy Revolutionary Road.
Overall I rate Revolutionary Road as 2 out of 5 stars; 1 star for the excellent acting and 1 star for Michael Shannons portrayal of John Givings; the “crazy neighbour” who “tells it as it is” and gave the only laughs of the movie.
